Kuthampully Sarees ,established in the year 1958 is one of the known organisations enormously indulged in manufacturing and wholesale of hand woven Kuthampully handlooms. An extensive series of cotton set saree, embroidery saree, hand painting cotton and tissue saree, set mundu, men's dhoti, veshti, kuthampully saree and many more, adorns our product line.

Our products are broadly employed in the market for their top features, quality and nominal costs. Furthermore, in order to provide the best quality of products, these products are checked on varied quality parameters employing the advanced techniques.

HERITAGE

About Kuthampully & weaving tradition :

Kuthampully, situated about 50 km northeast of Thrissur town, is a traditional cotton weaving village. Here 600 Brahmin families produce some of the most exotic sarees. The Kuthampully Saree is distinguished by it's saree border artistry.

The traditional weavers were brought here by the Kochi Royal family some 500 years back to ply their trade exclusively for the palace. Kuthampully Saree is woven by mostly Devanga community who came from Mysore State.

Kuthampully sarees is extremely famous for its quality and kasavu handloom weaving. The Kasavu Saree, Double dhoti, Set mundu and veshti are popular articles of clothing produced.

Modern weaving techniques have been incorporated to meet current trends and make designer clothing. Over 3000 people are employed in a variety of small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures. It is a unique experience to watch an entire community working for a specific purpose with such diligence and perseverance

 

In 1972 Kuthampully Handloom Industrial Cooperative Society was registered with 102 members. Now it has 814 and more members with own building in Kuthampully. In September 2011, the Kuthampully Saree got exclusive Intellectual Property rights through Geographical indication Act (GI) Kuthampully Village is famous for handloom textiles
